Market policy

This policy gives high-level guidelines for markets that Templar deploys through its CI. It does not limit what anyone can deploy from a factory on their own. Templar can update this policy.

Who can propose a market

The Precept team and trusted curator partners deploy official markets. Others can propose a market with a pull request, and Templar can decline any proposal.

What Templar reviews

  • Assets: issuer, liquidity, decimals, and any power to freeze or recover tokens.
  • Oracle: independent sources where available, and maximum ages that suit the refresh interval. A single-source asset needs a clear reason.
  • Parameters: factors, caps and interest curve. Caps must suit the collateral's market depth.
  • Keeper: who runs the market's keeper, how often it refreshes prices, and how failures are detected.
  • Liquidation: whether liquidators can cover the collateral within the auction clock.
  • Admin security: the market admin and oracle admin use a multisig or equivalent institutional custody, with no shared signing keys.
  • Disclosure: the config states the proposer's reasoning and any known risks.

What proposers do

  1. Rehearse on testnet when the setup is new.
  2. Put one market in each pull request.
  3. Respond to review, and fix what the plan comment reports.
  4. Run a keeper for the market's proxy oracle, and monitor it.
  5. Accept the admin role within 10 days, and activate the market only after final checks.
  6. Keep a working security contact, and report incidents to security@templarprotocol.com at once.

Cost and limits

Templar's deployer key currently pays the network fees for a merged config. To control cost and spam, Templar can limit or defer deployments, or introduce a fee.

Official status

A deployment does not by itself make a market official. Templar can remove a market from the app, for example after an admin compromise, an oracle failure or a policy breach. Removal from the app does not change the contracts or move any funds.

What review does not mean

Review is not an endorsement, an audit or investment advice. The market's admin is responsible for its own decisions and keys.
